Master of Fine Arts 2020

The 2020 Master of Fine Arts graduating class came together with art practices varying from socially engaged practice to in-depth material inquiry.  Questions about the technology that informs our media, the materiality of grief, or the power of melanized bodies in communion with the sun complemented each other in this divergent body of graduate work. From drawing through the female gaze to the performance of radical clowning, to the capture of daydreams, this show reflects the multiplicity of the MFA 2020 cohort.  The artworks exemplify the collaboration, rigorous creative  research, and in-studio material explorations which culminated in the development of each graduate’s thesis project.
